Welcome to 2026 - let’s skip the fluff and get into it properly.

What’s actually happening on social right now

If social media already feels heavier than it should this year, quick reassurance… it’s not because you’re bad at it.

And it’s definitely not because you’ve missed some secret update everyone else magically knows about.

Across platforms, we’re seeing a really clear shift.

• Authentic content is winning
  Real, imperfect, genuinely useful posts are outperforming overly polished ones. People want connection, not performance.
• People are still on social
  Usage hasn’t dropped. Attention has just become more selective. If content adds nothing, it gets scrolled past.
• Short-form video still leads
  Video works, but only when it feels human. Forced trends and over-produced clips? Not so much.
• Algorithms keep changing
  LinkedIn, Instagram and TikTok all reward different behaviour. One-size-fits-all just doesn’t cut it anymore.

In other words… effort isn’t the problem. The setup usually is.

SoAisy Version 3 is taking shape and this year already feels like a proper step forward.

Behind the scenes, we’re working even more closely with the SoAisy team as Version 3 comes together, and it’s been really refreshing to be involved at this level.

I’ve been working closely with Simon Lasota, sharing what we see day to day at SocialJems and what businesses actually struggle with when it comes to running their socials.

The conversations haven’t been about adding features for the sake of it. They’ve been about asking, “What would actually make this easier?” and “What would take pressure off?”

There are some genuinely smart updates and new adaptations being built into the platform, and we’ll be sharing more on those soon.
We’re really excited about this partnership and what these changes will mean for businesses like us using SoAisy moving forward. More to come very shortly.

February LinkedIn Live (recruiters, this one’s for you)

In February, we’re hosting a LinkedIn Live specifically for recruitment agencies who know LinkedIn matters… but also know they don’t have the time, headspace or patience to be posting every day.

This one is all about visibility without burnout.

We’ll be talking honestly about:

• Why most recruitment content sounds the same (and how to change that)
• Where AI genuinely helps recruiters and where it really doesn’t
• How to stay visible on LinkedIn without living on it
• What a realistic social media setup actually looks like when you’re busy running a business

A personal note from me

This year already feels special.

I’m heading to Norway with Charlie for our first trip of 2026. It was his Christmas present, and I honestly cannot wait to see his face when we get there.

2025 was a tough year for me. Back issues made moving forward physically and mentally harder than I expected. But I’m feeling strong, motivated and very ready to take this year by storm.

If you’re coming into this year after a difficult one too, you’re not behind and you’re definitely not alone.
