Welcome to 2024! Where the possibilities are endless.

But first, let’s talk about the end of 2023! Yes, we’re mentioning Christmas in January and we’re not sorry. How did you celebrate?

Now before we talk about any team updates, we want to talk about the Do’s and Don’ts of social media in 2024 - we figured that would be a great way to start our first newsletter of the year.

Do’s and Don’ts of 2024

It’s a brand-new year, so let's kick it off by looking at some of the Do's and Don'ts of social media in 2024. 

✅ Do's:

  1. Engage Authentically: Do actively engage with your audience by responding to comments and messages. Authentic interactions create a sense of community and trust.
  2. Keep Content Fresh: Regularly update your profile with relevant and interesting content. Share updates, news, and insights to keep your audience engaged and informed.
  3. Encourage Conversations: Do create content that sparks conversations. Pose questions, seek opinions, and encourage your followers to share their thoughts. Meaningful discussions enhance your online presence.
  4. Stay Current: Stay abreast of social media trends, features, and algorithms. Adapt your content strategy accordingly to maximise visibility and reach.
  5. Utilise Stories and Reels: Take advantage of ephemeral content like Stories and Reels to showcase a more spontaneous and behind-the-scenes aspect of your brand or personal life.

❌ Don'ts:

  1. Avoid Overusing Hashtags: Don't inundate your posts with an excessive number of hashtags. Focus on using relevant and specific hashtags to reach your target audience.
  2. Don't Ignore Your Followers: Ignoring comments or messages can create a negative impression. Show appreciation for your followers by acknowledging their contributions and questions.
  3. Steer Clear of Inconsistent Branding: Maintain a cohesive brand image across all your social media platforms. Inconsistent branding can confuse your audience and dilute your message.
  4. Don't Be Impersonal: Avoid sounding too corporate or detached. Inject personality into your posts to make your brand relatable and memorable.
  5. Refrain from Over-Promotion: While self-promotion is essential, excessive promotion can be a turn-off. Strike a balance by providing value and building genuine connections with your audience.

 Our Advice:

  1. Embrace Video Content: Video content continues to dominate social media. Incorporate engaging videos into your strategy to captivate your audience.
  2. Be Mindful of Privacy: Respect user privacy and be transparent about data usage. Build trust by prioritising user security and data protection.
  3. Monitor Analytics: Regularly analyse social media analytics to understand what works and what doesn't. Use insights to refine your strategy for better results.

By adhering to these do's and don'ts, you'll be better equipped to navigate the social media landscape in 2024, ensuring a positive and impactful online presence.

Christmas at Jems!

Jem was lucky not to find her house destroyed by rampaging rhinos, as the Jem clan decided a game of Jumanji was a good idea.😮

Would you dare play?

Along with playing a risky game, Jem and Josh decided to take the dogs for a visit to York, and it would have been rude not to get a hot chocolate whilst out on their adventures. They loved it, and so did the dogs! 

It’s probably the only time of year where Jem actually puts down the work, so we’re glad to see her out and about, enjoying herself! 

New Year at Sarahs!

And as for Sarah, well New Year is her favourite time of year, so she went a bit overboard with a cheese charcuterie board and flamingo jelly shots, and dressing as a shark…says it all really.🤣

Did you make it to midnight?

Sarah also spent Christmas with Joe’s family in Dover, catching up with everyone. The only downside to leaving her home, is that her friends decided to prank her. They did warn her they would do stuff to her house if she left them again. 

What’s new with SocialJems?

In short- a lot! 

We have a lot of changes coming, but we’re not quite ready to share that information yet. But it’s exciting and we’re still offering our same marketing services…but with an upgrade!
