April: Less is More. TikTok wants to make more money. And Travel is the theme for the team.

Spring has sprung, and summer will be fast approaching. And, if you’re anything like us, you’ve eaten your bodyweight plus in easter eggs and roast dinners. So, while you’re digesting, lets give you the great update.

Less Is More (With A Caveat)

I don’t mean delete your posts or do some radical minimalist style.

What I mean is, are you often struggling for ideas on what to post? Is daily posting feeling like a never-ending grind?

Then slow down and focus on fewer posts, but with greater quality and emphasis.

Simply ask yourself are you happy with what you're posting and…

IS IT WORKING?

Do you get people talking to you about it?
Do you get leads, conversations, comments, queries?

If not then it’s probably time to ditch it and move to something new.

There’s no point holding on to content or content formats that don’t interest you or your audience.

Instead, focus your efforts on the content and style that works.
Sometimes less is more and with social media, focus on what works and you will find it’s only two or three styles you need to alternate between.

If your social media feels like a massive chore - then you’re probably doing it wrong.

What you need is a sustainable, consistent system that doesn’t mean posting daily but instead posting at a pace that feels good for you and good for your content.

In fact, the algorithms are favouring that right now, trying to work towards prioritising posts that provide real value and that often comes once in a while rather than every day.

Platform Updates

TikTok is pushing heavily into social commerce with its "Watch It. Love It. Want It." campaign and the evolution of its "Smart+" ad platform, which now auto-selects the best-performing creatives to optimise campaigns automatically.

What does this mean? It means your best performing adverts get pushed more, meaning more purchases automatically being pushed.

LinkedIn has doubled down on including AI everywhere and launched an AI-powered search feature allowing users to find people, posts, and businesses using natural language (e.g., "find digital marketing experts in London") rather than relying on rigid filters.

This will obviously help make searching for and expanding your network and similar content easier providing greater access to the wider fear reaching areas of LInkedIn.

Also, no it’s not in your head. Engagement such as likes and comments are dropping across the board. Users are increasingly sharing content and engaging with brands privately in Direct Messages (DMs) and on platforms like WhatsApp.

This “dark social” has been around for a while, but it’s been picking up recent with increased access to share buttons that link directly to platforms like WahtsApp. So while your content may not be getting as much attention metrics, it could still well be being shared with increasingly relevant people.

What’s the team doing

Our illustrious namesake and leader, Jem, has been here there and everywhere. For starters she was properly spoiled on Mothers Day and been spending a lot fo time with Charlie.



Treated to a whole smorgasbord of food and pampered with gifts, she has done very well for herself.



Not only this her back is feeling SO MUCH BETTER!

The secret? Going for a massage every two weeks mixed with walking and yoga.
It’s a great life for some.

Finally Jem has made some incredible plans for travelling, exploring caves, going to festivals, comedians, trips to Wales and Scotland, and so much more.

Oh, and, OF COURSE….. She’s been to the spa! 😄



Freddie has now taken over the emails and emailers, leading the charge on giving you all the top tier social content you know and love.

It’s also straange talking about myself in the third person so moving on…

Sarah B has had a great month.

First was a trip out to Burgh in Great Yarmouth with her friends who came up for the weekend.

Naturally, she proceeded to spend far too much money in the arcades just to win, well, anything because if there’s anything Sarah love to do, it’s win. 



Not only this - she’s grown! She’s got more clients through Sparky Shark Marketing and that’s always wonderful to see.

And, this year is going to be the year Sarah gets a dog!!

She already has the dog beds, the dog leads, and the dog toys in preparation.

Sarah A has has wonderful times with family, a smattering of arts and crafts, and has been busy planning her trip to JAPAN!!!

We hope she has an amazing time and enjoys her trip.
